Kerstin Jorna, Deputy Director-General, DG Economic and Financial Affairs
Kerstin Jorna is a German national and a civil servant at the European Commission where she has held various positions, amongst others as Head of Cabinet of several Commissioners and different Director posts in the areas of Intellectual Property, Innovation and Standards, Single Market Policy, Regulation and Implementation.
Since December 2016 she is Deputy Director General in the Economic and Financial Affairs general directorate. Her areas of responsibility include, amongst others, macroeconomic surveillance of EU Member States, structural reforms, finance matters including the European Investment Plan and coordination with international financial institutions.
Mrs. Jorna is the Commission nominated Board Member at the European Investment Bank.
Gunnar Muent, Deputy Director-General, European Investment Bank
Gunnar Muent is Director of the Innovation and Competitiveness Department within the Projects Directorate at the European Investment Bank. Previously, he was Head of the RDI division in the same department since 2007. He joined the EIB in 2001 as an economist in the Projects Directorate and later became loan officer in the Central Europe Department within the Directorate for Lending Operations in Europe. Prior to joining the EIB, Mr Muent worked for a chemical company in operations in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, spent three years in the German Foreign Office and held different positions in public research. He has a degree in Industrial Engineering and a doctorate in Economics from the technical universities of Karlsruhe and Braunschweig (Germany).
Pablo Gonzalez, Director, NATO & European Defence Programmes, Indra
Pablo Gonzalez joined Indra in 2000, being Director for NATO and European Defence and Space Programmes since 2013. Member of the ASD Defence Business Unit and of the Council of EUROSPACE (2015-17). He has participated as Expert on several ISTAR, BMD and IAMD NIAG Studies.
Between 2007 and 2013, he was Director of Unmanned Systems, developing a portfolio of new RPAS, pioneering its insertion in airspace and contributing to the EC Roadmap for RPAS.
Business Development Manager for European Space Programmes, from 2000 until 2007, strongly involved in the foundation of the Galileo Joint Undertaking.
Before Indra, he was member of the Spanish Delegation to ESA and Head of ESA Programmes Department in CDTI (Spanish Ministry of Industry and Research).
Engineer and project manager in GMV (1990-95), involved in GNC and Mission Planning, for METOP, MSG and Rosetta.
He served as second lieutenant Flight Test Engineer in the Spanish Air Force in 1990.
Mr. Gonzales earned a Master in Aeronautical Engineering by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in 1989. He completed the Advanced Management Programmes in IE Business School and ESIC in 2003 and the 29th edition of IHDN Session Européenne des Responsables d’Armament (SERA) in 2017. He lectured Mathematics in UPM Aeronautical Engineering School in1997-99.
Pierre Menet, Senior Advisor, European & International Affairs Department, Groupe Caisse des Dépôts
Pierre Menet is Senior Advisor in charge of projects and investments in the European and International Affairs Department at Caisse des Dépôts (CDC). CDC is a French public financial institution performing public interest mission granted by law and a major long term institutional investor. Pierre is member of the Advisory Committee of a Connecting Europe Broadband Fund launched in June 2018 of which CDC has invested along the Commission, the EIB, KfW, CDP and private investors. Prior joining CDC in 2013, Pierre was heading a financial engineering unit dealing with Public Sector project finance in the Corporate and Investment Banking division of a large French bank. He has a more than 25 years experience in facilitating projects access to financing and in structuring both equity and debt products. Pierre is also Reserve Officer in the French Navy.
Emilio Tuñón-Nieto, Deputy Director of Life Cycle Management, NSPA
Dr. Tuñón is a Spanish national serving in the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), where he is the Deputy Director of the Life Cycle Management Directorate.
He is a Commissioned Officer from the Spanish Army Military General Academy and he holds a Ph.D. degree in automation and robotics from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, a Master (phil.) in Project Engineering from the Polytechnic School of Zaragoza and a Master degree in International Politics from the Centre Européene des Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques in Brussels.
Since 1992, Dr. Tuñón has worked for NATO where he has hold technical and management positions in the Life Cycle Management domain from system concept definition to system retirement.
Over the years, Dr. Tuñón has been deeply involved in the support of European defence systems such as the NH90 and Tiger helicopters, the A400-M aircraft and the Multi Role Tanker Transport.
